14k Solid Gold Medallion with Faceted Sapphire on 18" 14kt Gold Chain finished with 4 Sapphire beads and our solid 14k Gold Hook and Eye Clasp.
"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day." - Vincent van Gogh.
Inspired by the beauty in the moonlit glow illuminating the garden at night, our Midnight Garden collection takes a closer look at the beauty found in a night garden. Our large Nictotiana medallion is a swirl of botany, large petals, leaves undulating within a textured rolled edge, embellished with a rich deep blue faceted Sri Lankan Sapphire.
Nicotiana a genus of plants in the family Solanaceae, is a member of the nightshade family. It is indigenous to the Americas, and among the ancient Maya, the dried leaves of the plant were considered a sacred, supernaturally powerful plant, a primordial medicine or "botanical helper", associated with Maya deities of the earth and sky. Various Nicotiana species, commonly referred to as tobacco plants, are cultivated as ornamental garden plants. Jean Nicot presented the tobacco plant to Queen Catherine de Medici at the House of Lorraine in 1655, who believed it to be medicinal, a remedy for her intense migrain headaches.
Size: Approximately one inch in diameter, with an undulating surface, our Nicotiana flower swirling inside a rimmed edge, a solid gold medallion. The Sapphire, is faceted, set in 4 prongs, and is approximately 1/8" diameter and .25 carats. Crafted on a long-short linked, vintage inspired 14k gold chain, finished with 4 Sapphire beads, approximately 2mm in diameter, and our solid 14k Gold Hook and Eye Clasp, at 18" long.
