Cybele was called the Queen Mother of the West, a Goddess whose likeness could be found on coins, funerary urns, effigies and in many stone sculptures in the ancient western hemisphere, where cults of Cybele were easy to find. Her vivid and forceful character was seen as a mediator between opposing worlds, such as the civilized and the wild, the living and the dead.
