Good for one fare and beyond, a bit of NYC history is encapsulated in our Token Necklace crafted in solid Sterling, or 14k Gold, from a Y token in use in the city for 17 years until 1970 when it was deemed too similar to a dime, confusing for commuters and taken out of circulation.
Crafted from a NYC token in my father's change dish, that I always loved. The cutout Y of NYC, appealed to me at a young age, it feels good in the hand, and for a functional object, it is a beautiful design.
An urban treasure to remind you to fare well, through thick and thin, like the City it was made for. Available crafted in solid Sterling or solid 14k Gold, on smooth Cable link Chain, 18" to 20" adjustable.
- Approximately 1/2" in diameter, with words incised on both sides,
- a genuine replica of a NYC Y Token,
- 2mm in thickness.
Crafted on delicate yet strong Cable Chain, finished with a tiny lobster claw clasp, antiqued or bright silver finish, available, your choice.
