Teresa's first insect was a Fly, crafted from her sketches from inspirations at The Met in NYC. A simple creature, ubiquitous, and annoying the Fly has had a presence throughout antiquity, in art and culture of varied civilizations. Of the insect order Diptera, meaning two wings, the fly has symbolized earthly endeavors more than those of the spirit world like many other insects do.
