A bright luminescent droplet of a button Pearl, in either soft Pink, Creamy White of Soft Grey, encapsulated in our Sterling Trinity Love Knot, crafted on a black leather cord, finished with Sterling ends, a small, oval Lobster Claw style clasp, and an inch of Sterling chain for length adjustment. Teresa crafted this modern knot from square Sterling wire to elegantly hold a simple pearl. The Pearl we have sourced for this piece is a Japanese Akoya saltwater pearl, from a family business that practices sustainable cultivation.
With a serene beauty, their distinctive appearance and watery origins, Pearls have inspired symbolism and lore for centuries. Pearls represent many things, their inherent natural beauty has charmed humans for centuries. They are the birthstone of those born in June and correlate with the zodiac sign, Cancer, and have astrological associations with the planet Venus, in Western culture. Like pearls, the goddess of love came from the sea.
Pearls form within various species of freshwater and saltwater mollusks, the soft white lustrous orbs, more commonly found among saltwater pearls, have become an idealized standard. Of course, this shape strongly evokes the Moon. In ancient Vedic texts, from the Indian subcontinent, the pearl is born of the Earth’s waters and the heaven’s powers, fertilized by a flash of lightning. It’s considered to be the daughter of the Moon. Not surprisingly, many cultures have made lunar associations with pearls. These connections are further reinforced by the Moon’s association with the watery domain where pearls are born.
Size: The Triad Knot is approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. The Button Pearl is approximately 6mm. Pearls will vary as each is unique and natural. **Grey, or Cognac Leather also available, kindly leave note in convo for leather color other than black.
"Adornments have been a lifelong passion, and studying Metalsmithing at Parsons School of Design where I graduated from in the late eighties, enabled me to realize my dream to create wearable art in 3 dimensions. Nature is a constant source of inspiration, as is the history of Adornment. T and Brie came about very organically and feels like the perfect project for a Metalsmith mom getting back to the bench and her creative daughter, who enjoy making things together."- Teresa de la Guardia, owner, designer, crafter, T and Brie Design.
All pieces will arrive in a velvet pouch, decoratively boxed with small Pearl cards relating impressions, ready for unique gift giving or safe keeping.
