A mystical amulet to connect one with all things magical about summer evenings and hopefully delight and please for many years to come.

The enigmatic "Blue Ghost" Firefly, Phausis Reticulata, found in the Appalachian region in the South Eastern United States, recreated in glistening Sterling Silver, enhanced with a high dome Swiss Blue Topaz or milky Blue Chalcedony with coordinating faceted beads wrapped near our handcrafted Hook Clasp or Lobster Claw type clasp, your choice. We apply a natural, oxidizing charcoal-grey patina and lightly hand-brush our Sterling for a matte finish, creating personal amulets with a found treasure feel.

We craft our Blue Ghost Firefly Amulet with a cool Blue Topaz Cabochon or Blue Chalcedony to represent this mysterious little beetle found in the Appalachian Mountain region of the United States, who magically blink synchronously in the forest.

  • Our unique Firefly is 3/4" long
  • This phosphorescent beetle is created on different lengths of your choice beginning at 16" of our sturdy yet delicate oval link cable link chain with four faceted gemstone beads at the clasp.
  • A small Sterling Lobster Claw style clasp is an option
  • Also available with our Hook and Eye clasp, also fastened with faceted  beads
  • Metaphysically speaking, Topaz has long believed to inspire creativity

Topaz gets its name from the Greek word topazion, which may originate from the Sanskrit word tapas, meaning, fire. Topaz occurs in a wide range of colors, it is the birthstone for the month of November, along with Citrine, and the stone given in celebration of the 4th and 19th anniversaries of marriage. It is usually very clear in its mineral composition. The blue variety has been associated with metaphysical ideas of reflecting the energy of the mind, stimulating one’s self-confidence and ability to learn and think through complex concepts and ideas .

Serene, cool Blue Chalcedony, ethereal yet solid, was historically the birthstone for May. Chalcedony was used as talismans by the Assyrians and Babylonians as far back as 4000 B.C. The ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome used varieties of Chalcedony in jewelry and carvings.

Each piece is handcrafted and is signed & dated and comes tucked in a pouch, in T and Brie gift box, with a small card describing the inspiration with a bit of Firefly lore for unique gift giving.
