Our Queen Bee earrings crafted with Posts will buzz on the earlobe with their glistening outstretched wings and spiral bodies. These unique 1" wide earrings are handcrafted in the T and Brie NY Studio from Sterling wire and sheet.  Inspired by the amazing social nature of Bees, and their long and interesting history, Teresa and Brie have crafted a very contemporary Bee Earring.

Your choice for the gemstone to be set in the head, of this important insect. The Sterling is given a natural patina, finished with a hand-brushed technique, living a matte sheen on the surface, exuding sophistication.

The subtle feminine form of these earrings is inspired by Bees association with women, in many different cultures, throughout history. In Greek mythology, bees were believed to be the souls of priestesses who had been in the service of Aphrodite during their lifetimes. In Ancient Greece, at the temple of Aphrodite at Eryx, priestesses were called “melissae”, which means “bees,” and Aphrodite herself was called Melissa, the Queen Bee.

All pieces will arrive in a pouch, packaged in a decorative gift box with cards that convey Bee inspirations. Each work is signed and dated and hand-stamped Sterling. A perfect gift for the bee lover or avid gardener in your life.

Teresa designed the first Bee when she moved from the city to the country and became inspired by the many new life forms teaming in the yard.
